Interweave, Channing’s group for LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer) and allies focuses on education, support, and advocacy. Every year we host The Born This Way Prom for LGBTQ youth and allies in April, participate in the Newport Pride Fest in June, and organize a Transgender Day of Remembrance service in November.
We are open to all people who have an interest in learning about LGBTQ issues and making the world a safe and accepting place for all people. On the third Sunday of the month, we hold potluck dinner meetings followed by programming. For more information, contact interweave@channingchurch.org.
